Parades begin at 8am leaving 27th street and cruising south along the boardwalk to the Inlet. Significant traffic congestion and alternate traffic patterns are anticipated throughout the weekend. All motorists are advised to plan their drives accordingly to ensure they arrive at their destinations safely and on time. Residents and visitors alike are reminded to tap the brakes as they cruise along Coastal Highway, as the resort town will be designated a Special Event Zone to reduce established speed limits from May 16-19. Cruisin’ Ocean City is a weekend in Ocean City, Maryland devoted to cars and car lovers. Each Spring, just after Springfest and just before Ocean City, MD is flooded with hundreds of thousands of tourists, thousands of classic cars, hot rods, and tricked out trucks flood the streets for the annual Cruisin’ Ocean City Car Show, held in late May. The town of Ocean City has a trailer parking ordinance which prohibits trailer parking on city streets from May 1st – October 31st. Any Endless Summer Cruisin participants that will be parking a trailer on city streets will need a trailer parking permit. Trailer parking permits are $50 and can be purchased at the event or in advance by mailing in a permit application. Only registered Endless Summer Cruisin participants may purchase a trailer permit.
With credentials in hand after checking into the Convention Center, it’s a short hop over to the “Inlet,” which serves as the epicenter for the weekend’s festivities. Accommodating up to 1,500 of the region’s coolest muscle cars, classic trucks, hot rods, and classics, it’s easy to go into sensory overload thanks to all the blinding chrome and candy coatings shimmering under the sun. Thanks to all the exciting mini events happening across the strip throughout the weekend, the parking turns over regularly, giving everyone a chance to stop in and visit.
Scheduled to appear at this year’s Cruisin, Faye Hadley from the hit shows All Girls Garage and Motor Mythbusters. Cruisin’ weekends are popular both in the spring and in the fall because it gives car enthusiasts a chance to show off and, in a way, have the beach weekend to themselves. OCEAN CITY — The 26th Annual Endless Summer Cruisin Car Show returns to Ocean City this week, beginning Thursday, Oct. 5 and running through Oct. 8. Violators will face increased fines and penalties for violations and, in extreme cases, arrest. The Ocean City Police Department will remain on high alert during the entirety of the event.
The Grand Finale Awards will take place Sunday at 2 p.m. More than 500 trophies, plaques and awards will be presented. Fans of Ocean City’s historic Boardwalk can spend Thursday, Friday and Saturday mornings checking out the revered OC Cruisin’ Boardwalk Parade from 27th street to the Inlet. Roughly 750 customized classic vehicles of all makes will be on display.
